The Gender at noon or “Midi du Genre”
http://www.gendertime.org/node/243
The “Midi du genre” has been implemented at the beginning of 2014 to improve the visibility of gender research at UPEC. It consists in organising every two months a presentation and debate around gender books or large piece of work recently published by UPEC researchers, open to all, including students, academic and non-academic staff. Topics covered were varied, from the domestic power (control), via women celibacy to gender in political science.
These events are the occasion to create a mailing list, which is growing.
The Interdisciplinary Gender and Master Day
http://www.gendertime.org/node/243
This action has been carried out at UPEC for 2 years.
It provides opportunity for students in master programme to present and debate annually in public their research outcome on gender before official defence. The action is undertaken with the support of the thematic network on gender research whose members are academics in teaching and research on gender.
The procedure starts with a submission of abstracts via a call for paper and the students are placed under the supervision of their professors.
Each participant makes her/his presentation for about ten minutes, which is followed by a twenty-minute debate allowing new lines of research exploration.
The action received a positive feedback from the participants and the public.
